GTM ENGINEERING 02 — DEMAND GENERATION
Demand created.Demand captured.
Most demand generation measures capture and calls it creation. We build them as two machines with two budgets and two metrics, because a company that only harvests existing intent is bidding against everyone else for the same three percent of its market.

PIPELINE
IN BRIEF
- Strategy Engineered builds demand generation systems for B2B and SaaS companies.
- Demand creation and demand capture are run, budgeted and measured as distinct machines.
- Scope covers organic search, answer-engine visibility, paid, lifecycle, and the intent taxonomy beneath them.
- Demand Gen works one-to-many against a segment. Named-account programs sit under ABM.
01 — THE SITUATION
A company reports a healthy cost per lead while its category share is flat. It is capturing demand it did not create, in a shrinking pool of in-market buyers, against competitors bidding on the same terms. The metric improves as the business narrows.
The second failure is a taxonomy problem. Inbound and outbound run on different definitions of intent, so the same account appears twice under two names and no one can say what actually worked. Budget then moves toward whichever machine has the cleanest attribution rather than the one creating the most demand.
02 — WHAT WE BUILD
| Creation and capture split | Two machines, two budgets, two metrics. Creation measured on category and branded search; capture on cost and conversion. |
|---|---|
| Answer-engine visibility | Structure, schema, source discipline and citable argument, so the company is retrievable by language models as well as crawlers. |
| Organic search | Topic architecture built around buying questions rather than keyword volume, with internal linking that reflects the actual offer. |
| Paid architecture | Channel selection, offer design and creative testing, measured against pipeline rather than clicks. |
| Lifecycle | What happens between first touch and readiness, triggered by behaviour rather than a fixed day count. |
| Intent taxonomy | One shared definition of intent across inbound, outbound and product, so an account cannot be double-counted. |
04 — THE FIRST NINETY DAYS
| 1–2 | Intent taxonomy written. Baselines set for category search, branded search and cost per opportunity. |
|---|---|
| 3–5 | Answer-engine and search architecture built. Schema, structure and the first citable assets shipped. |
| 6–9 | Paid architecture live at controlled spend. Lifecycle triggers wired to behaviour. |
| 10–12 | Both machines reporting separately. Budget reallocated on measured evidence rather than attribution convenience. |

07 — HOW WE FIT
| YOUR TEAM | Strategy Engineered | WHAT YOU KEEP |
|---|---|---|
| Owns brand, budget and the offer | Builds both machines, the taxonomy and the measurement layer | Every account, property, asset and dashboard |
| Approves creative and messaging | Reports creation and capture separately, weekly | The operating model, documented |
08 — ENGAGEMENT SHAPES
| THE DIAGNOSTIC | Two to three weeks. The written diagnosis of your revenue system and the sequenced recommendation. The smallest honest engagement we offer. |
|---|---|
| THE SPRINT | Four to eight weeks. One defined problem — a pricing study, an entry study, a launch architecture — taken from question to decision-grade answer. |
| THE RETAINER | Quarterly. Design and build, held to numbers agreed in advance. Reviewed — and cancellable — at every quarter boundary. |
| THE EMBEDDED | We operate inside the motion: a partner and pod accountable for a revenue outcome alongside your team, until the system runs without us. |
ENGAGEMENTS START AT $3,000. SCOPE IS SET AFTER THE FIRST CONVERSATION. WE DO NOT PRICE AS A PERCENTAGE OF MEDIA SPEND.
FAQ
- Do you buy media?
- We design and manage paid programs. We do not price as a percentage of media spend, so there is no incentive to recommend more of it.
- Is this SEO?
- Search is one input. The work is built for retrieval and citation by language models as well as ranking in a results page.
- How is this different from ABM?
- Demand Gen works one-to-many against a segment. ABM works one-to-few against a named list. Most companies need both, sequenced.
- How quickly does this show?
- Capture improves inside a quarter. Creation compounds across two to four and is measured on category and branded search, not on leads.
- What do you need from us?
- Budget authority, brand approval, and someone who can answer a product question inside a day.
Bring us a hard problem.
Engagements begin with a conversation, not a proposal. Tell us where growth is stuck. We will tell you — plainly — whether we are the right instrument, and what we would do first.
